About ernie

Ernie is a Singapore-based music composer and sound designer for media such as films, TV series, amongst others.

His interest in music began when he learnt Speech-Level Singing (SLS) at 15 years old, which paved the way for experimentation and arrangement in his later years.

Aside from serving as the Assistant Music Director for Chingay Parade Singapore 2024 “Blossom”, he has also had the opportunity to be part of noteworthy productions - Sandcastles (2024) (directed by Carin Leong) which premiered in mega arts-fest SXSW, Singapore-Taiwan co-production Deep End (2023)(directed by K Rajagopal and Yeo Siew Hua) and HBO Asia’s Invisible Stories (2020)(directed by Ler Jiyuan) to name a few.

Being versed in the fields of music composition and sound design puts Ernie in a unique position - he is able to create soundscapes blending both elements seamlessly while also being able to wear different hats when necessary.

Ernie strives to continually help paint stories and pushed narratives further with music composition and sound design, and his dedication has been entrusted by heavyweights such as Google and CJ Entertainment to name a few.

Ernie is also a Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI) alumnus and is interested in various art forms such as sewing, painting, animation and sculptures.
